You’re invited to the First Annual

Cascadia Men’s Conference 2026

August 6 - 9 | Squamish Valley, Canada

The Cascadia Men’s Conference is a four-day gathering devoted to stewarding mature masculinity.

Set where the forest meets the river, this event features keynote speakers, lectures, embodied workshops, ritual, poetry, nature-based practice, and myth-telling.

We gather around the shared labor of cultivating responsibility, emotional depth, mythic imagination, and generative leadership.

Drawing from the rich mythopoetic lineage, the conference is a call to join a community of men devoted to the flourishing of life—and the resilience of the worlds they build.

What to Expect:

Poetry as Lifeblood

In this tradition, poetry is not an adornment; it is a survival skill. Woven throughout the gathering, we use language that puts its elbows on the table to resuscitate a soul-life that has been flattened by the modern world.

A Great Myth

We begin by orienting ourselves to a major myth—an ancient map that serves as the frame for our descent. This is the "lie that tells the truth," a narrative mirror that reveals the hidden patterns of our lives and the landscape we now navigate.

Ritual & Shared Song

We engage the heavy work of ritual to turn isolated pain into communal belonging. Through a central ceremony of grief and the undeniable potency of men raising their voices in unison, we move from the neck-up into the intelligence of the body.

Commensality

The work of soul-making requires the nourishment of the hearth. We break bread together over locally-sourced meals, providing a vital space for the barriers of the individual to drop away and the spirit of the village to emerge.

Intellectual Fire

Keynote elders and thinkers deliver fresh perspectives on cultural repair and the mythic imagination. We move beyond self-help to explore a rigorous, maturing masculinity fit for the challenges of a world in transition.

Embodiment

These smaller sessions bridge mythic insight with lived reality. Through nature connection in the Squamish wilds, somatic movement, and relationship skills, we practice the applied mythic for the sake of the communities we return to.

Location: Cheakamus Centre, Squamish

Deep within the Squamish Valley, the Cheakamus Centre sits where the glacial melt meets the ancient standing-people. This is Skwxwú7mesh territory — a landscape of granite peaks and rushing water that demands a different kind of listening. Here, under the canopy of the rainforest, we gather to untangle the knots of the modern masculine, tending the fires of shared wisdom and apprentice ourselves to the heavy work of culture-making.

  • The Noble Masculine: You hold masculinity as fundamentally good—a wild force that requires the "tree rings" of mentorship to ripen into service.

  • Deep Diversity: You seek a wild ecosystem of men, held together not by a unified ideology, but by a shared commitment to the deep.

  • Village over "Me": Your search for healing has moved beyond the orbit of personal growth and toward the repair of culture and the living earth.

  • The Animate World: You are ready to trade a sterile view of nature for an animist one, apprenticing yourself to the more-than-human world.

  • Affinity as Service: You see the circle of men as a vital threshold—a place to sharpen the soul so you may better serve those outside the lodge.

  • The Inverse Perspective: You welcome the "downward" weight of soul-work and the challenge of perspectives that invert modern, shallow scripts.

  • The Lineage: You find your maps in the works of the elders: Robert Bly, James Hillman, Michael Meade, Stephen Jenkinson, Martin Shaw, and others.

“The healing energy in community is multiplied - what might take years in a therapist’s office can happen in a few hours when men are cracked open together. Ceremony gives us a way to turn pain into belonging.” — Miguel Rivera
